The stars have aligned: Evan Lewandowski is coming to minimo! We’ve wanted to put Evan in front of you for a long time, but logistics weren’t easy. Evan used to have a complicated commute between California (where his grapes were grown) and Utah (where the wine was made). However, Evan now mostly resides in California. He just opened a tasting room in Healdsburg, and is farming a vineyard with Sam Bilbro of Idlewild in Mendocino. In March, Evan will be in Oakland for the sold-out natural wine fête Brumaire. On the day before Brumaire--Saturday, March 7--he’ll pour his wines at minimo for any and all to taste. 

A little background: Evan is the mastermind behind Ruth Lewandowski. He named his label for the Book of Ruth, a story of a woman who finds new life after her family suffers death and tragedy. Evan sees parallels in regenerative farming practices, where death generates fertility and nurtures new life. In recent years, Evan resided in Park City, Utah (due to his love of skiing), and had ambitious plans to plant a vineyard in Utah. Planting vineyards there is still on the horizon, but in the meantime he has relocated to be closer to the exceptional vineyards that supply his fruit, like Fox Hill, Testa, and Rorick Heritage Vineyard. We’re thrilled to have him nearby!
