Winemaker Tasting with Trail Marker Wine Co. + Provecho Pop-up!

  • minimo 420 3rd St Oakland, CA, 94607 (map)

Join us for an extra special winemaker tasting with Emily Virgil & Drew Huffine of Trail Marker! Provecho will be here too, popping up with irresistible Oaxacali Bites. We’re donating a portion of the tasting proceeds to an organization supporting LA-area fire victims.

In 2012 Emily and Drew launched Trail Marker Wine Co., focusing on cooler-climate sites at higher elevations so as to make wines with finesse and precision. They chose the name “Trail Marker” to reflect that special place where humans and nature meet. The tasting will feature Trail Marker’s Trousseau, a rare red variety beloved for producing light and herbal wines. More recently, Emily & Drew added a second label called Kid Sister that is all about appreciating life's little joys. From the Kid Sister line, they’ll pour a Kerner, a white grape commonly associated with northern Italy, and a pét-nat of Blaufränkisch, both from the Mokelumne Glen Vineyard in Lodi. Bundles of joy for sure!

Emily and Drew originally met in Los Angeles. Drew was an English professor with a side gig in wine retail. Emily grew up in Altadena, where she returned after studying fashion in NYC and Italy–and met Drew. Eventually they relocated to the Bay Area to pursue their passion for wine, and now call Healdsburg home. Emily’s parents lost their home–the Altadena home where Emily was raised–in the Eaton fire. With the widespread devastation of the Los Angeles fires, we all seem to know someone touched by this heartbreaking tragedy. A portion of proceeds from this event will be donated to the Fuerza Fund, supporting essential workers & their families affected by the fires with direct and immediate cash assistance.
