Winemaker Tasting with William Allen of Two Shepherds

Two Shepherds is making some of the finest examples of Rhone varietals in California, and embodies all that we love at Oakland Crush - Old World style wines with purity and balance, minimal intervention winemaking, grapes sourced from cool climate vineyards, and wines that are expressive of the vintage and place.

Winemaker William Allen founded Two Shepherds in 2010 as a "one-man micro winery," producing 175 cases of wine. He’s now expanded to just 1200 cases, has been profiled in Jon Bonné's book, The New California Wine: A Guide to the Producers and Wines Behind a Revolution in Taste, and serves as the North Coast Chapter President of the Rhone Rangers.

We’re thrilled to have William at Oakland Crush on Saturday, January 23rd, from 2:00-5:00 pouring a selection of his fantastic Rhone-varietal wines:

2014 Rosé of Grenache, Ceja Farms, Sonoma Coast
2013 Grenache Blanc, Saarloos Vineyard, Santa Ynez
2014 Carignan, Trimble Vineyard, Mendocino
2012 Pastoral Rouge, Russian River Valley (45% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 25% Syrah)
2014 Trousseau Gris, Fanucchi Vineyard, Russian River (skin contact)

5 wines/$15
Saturday, January 23rd, 2:00-5:00
