KABAJ is located in the Goriška Brda region of Slovenia, at the foothills of the Alps, adjacent to northeastern Italy and close to the Adriatic sea. In this unique location, Jean-Michel and his wife make stunning wines. Jean-Michel was born in Paris and trained as an enologist in Bordeaux before he fell in love with Katja Kabaj. When they married, he took over the farming and winemaking on her family’s historic property, and raised the Kabaj winery’s elegant skin-contact wines to world renown.
