Niklas Peltzer, of the legendary biodynamic winery Meinklang, will join us Wednesday night to pour his wines!
Meinklang is located in Eastern Austria at the border of Hungary, in the World Heritage site of the National Park Neusiedlersee. One of the largest Demeter-certified biodynamic wineries in Europe, Meinklang is a polyculture farming operation run by an extended family. (It’s also famous for its cattle, hence the label.) This farm is truly impressive for its biodiversity and treatment of its site as living organism. The wines encapsulate both its beauty and wildness.
Niklas will be pouring the ‘Mulatschak’ blend of Welschriesling, Pinot Gris, and Tramine, which sees 5-7 days of skin contact; the ‘Foam’ Pétillant Naturel of Pinot Gris from Meinklang's wild ‘Graupert’ Vineyard; and a dark, peppery, bold Blaufränkisch.
Wednesday, May 22nd, 5-7pm. Flight of 3 wines, $15
As always, featured bottles will be for sale at 10% off to tasting participants, during the event only. Wine Club Members get 20% off tastings.
