Events & Gatherings

The 21+ Tasting Area (in the rear portion of the shop) is available for parties, meetings, and other events. The only times we cannot host private events are Wednesday evenings and Saturdays, due to our regularly scheduled wine tastings; and on the second Sunday of the month when we have our wine club pick-up party.

Note: walk-in groups larger than 8 will incur a $100 service charge, in addition to their alcohol purchase, and will be accommodated based on availability. 

If you wish to rent the entire tasting area, the base rental fee is $300 for 2 hours. A surcharge will be applied for events longer than 2 hours or extending past the shop’s normal closing time. Rental includes exclusive use of the entire bar, communal table, and tasting area, plus a staff person dedicated to pouring wine for your group. Parties may be as large as 45 guests at any given time, in accordance with our occupancy limit.

In addition to the $300 rental fee, we require a minimum alcohol purchase of $200-450 depending on the size of your party. 

Rentals should be arranged at least two weeks in advance by contacting us at 510-891-1024 or A $150 deposit is required when you finalize your reservation. We are happy to help curate a wine selection to meet the tastes/interests of your party and the minimum purchase amount. Wine selections should be finalized at least 5 days before the event. 

Persons under 21 are not permitted in the tasting area at any time, including during private events. 

You are welcome to bring your own food or arrange catering for any gathering at minimo. We don’t have a kitchen, so food should be pre-prepared. (Please also bring any serving ware, plates, and utensils you’ll need.) We’ll provide—along with the wine and stemware—cocktail napkins, chilled water, and water glasses. We also sell artisan sodas for guests who don’t drink alcohol. 

We are happy to accommodate “no-host” events in which each guest pays individually, in order to eliminate a rental fee for the tasting area.

If your event involves catering, food set-up, or decoration, we require private event rental on a per-hour basis, as described above.

No-host events are bar service only, usually with a customized flight of wines for your group. The tasting area may remain open to other customers during no-host events. Contact us at 510-891-1024 or to discuss the nature of your party, and we’ll work with you to determine pricing and logistics.
